When choosing a paving company to carry out your work, you should ask the following questions:

How is the driveway being constructed?

The cheapest quote may be tempting but is rarely the best option as some companies will only be able to offer a low price because they have cut costs e.g. by using less sub base or poor quality blocks.

Problems with the sub base can lead to areas of the paving sinking. If this occurs, the only option is to remove the whole driveway or patio including base materials and restart the job from the beginning, so you would have paid much more in the long run. A well constructed concrete sub base will spread loads and ensure that your driveway will not sink. Our driveways are laid to high specifications to ensure that they can cope with all types of vehicles including delivery and removal vans.

What is being incorporated into the driveway to ensure it meets all current drainage regulations?

Correct drainage and soakaways should be incorporated. Failure to adhere to the regulations can result in not only a poorly constructed driveway but also potential damp problems in your house and issues with planning permission.

Will there be much disruption during construction?

Will skips block your or your neighbour’s access and will you have to park your cars on the public road during construction? We will ensure that you and your neighbours will not be inconvenienced by our work.  We hold a waste carrier's licence through the Environment Agency so we are able to carry away all materials from your old driveway or patio on our truck so there will be no issues regarding skips blocking access. Most driveways are completed within 5 days and we will leave a ramp in place so you can still park your cars on the driveway each evening during construction. You can use your new driveway straight after completion as the sub base will have already set by the time the pavers are laid.

Is the work guaranteed?

A reputable paving company should be able to guarantee it's work. We provide a 10 year written guarantee against structural failings for your peace of mind.
